Bernard Biwott collected his second-ever marathon win on Sunday by demolishing the field to win the 2025 Paris Marathon.
Elsewhere in Europe, Geoffrey Kamworor was in inspired form as he eclipsed a strong field to come out victorious at the 2025 Rotterdam Marathon.
Biwott, who looked comfortable all race long, claimed his second victory in the 42 kilometre battle, leaving all of his rivals with 10km still to go and finishing in 2:05:25, a new personal best time.
The win in Paris was only the second marathon for the 22-year-old who also won his previous outing in Frankfurt in October 2024.
Ibrahim Hassan from Djibouti, who was the only one to give chase when Biwott made his move, finished second in 2:06:13, ahead of another Kenyan, Sila Kiptoo.
Kiptoo was closely followed by compatriots Enock Kinyamal (2:06:32) and Dominic Ngeno (2:06:37).
In the Women's segment, Ethiopian runner Bedatu Hirpa won a thrilling women's Paris Marathon which took place in generally cool conditions.
Hirpa, 25, came on strong in the final metres of the race to overtake compatriot Dera Dida to win by just four seconds in 2hr 20min 45sec.
It was Hirpa's second marathon of the year, following her victory in Dubai in mid-January when she beat Dida in a similar finish. Kenya's Angela Tanui finished third in 2:21:07.
In Rotterdam, Kenyans Geoffrey Kamworor and Jackline Cherono claimed the men's and women's titles at the 2025 Rotterdam Marathon.
Kamworor, 32, secured the men's title with ease, crossing the finish line in 2:04:33, ahead of Ethiopians Chala Regasa (2:05:06) and Chimdessa Debele (2:05:26).
Kenya's Kennedy Kimutai and Chesiro Masai were fourth and fifth, respectively.
In the women's elite race, Cherono, 26, was even more emphatic.
She clocked 2:21:15, exactly a minute clear of Aminet Ahmed of Ethiopia, who edged out compatriot Azmera Gebru for second place. No other Kenyan finished in the top 10.
Finally, in Zurich, Mark Kosgei Kiptoo was victorious in the 2025 edition of the Zurich Marathon, clocking a time of 2:09:12 to register the win.
Ethiopia's Kifele Kefyalew was second with a time of 2:10:50.
Adrian Lehmann from Switzerland came third with 2:11:44.
Kenya's Daniel Kiptoo was eighth overall with a time of 2:16:44.
In the women's segment, Ethiopia's Helen Bekele came top with a time of 2:24:14 to collect a hard fought win.
She was joined on the podium by two Kenyans, Veronica Maina (2:26:41) and Janet Jelagat Cherono (2:30:11), who were second and third, respectively.
